I saw your mugshot babe In some local page Didn't mention your life They just mentioned your crime
Ten thousand lakes Ten million parking lots Filled with cigarette butts Half are yours and mine

Well you look fantastic Though you try to mask it With run down upholstery

I don't think I have the skill to do this...But I frequently misunderstood Paul's lyrics, and then liked what I thought they were better than what they actually were (or at least what other people said they were)...Can't think of too many examples now, of course...One was in "Talent Show": I always thought he was singing "We got our guitars and we got a firm fix", which I liked better than "thumb picks"...Most people say that at the end of "Bastards of Young", he's saying "Take it, it's your's", but I thought it was "Keep it short"...I thought that would have been funny, because, at the time, there was still this sort of post-punk ethic that called for shorter songs, and that song did seem to end somewhat abruptly...If I could change some lyrics, I never particulary cared for the "vomit" line in "Whatever Makes You Happy" or the "clean underwear" line in "Love Untold"...
