“I would sort of divide what we did between the songs that ache and the songs that rock. Sometimes they did both. But the ones that ached mattered a little more to me than say, ‘One Good Dose of Thunder'" - on the songs in the Replacements catalog
More great pics, plus man/woman on the street interviews asking "Fill in the blank: Paul Westerberg makes me want to _____." (best answer is from Paul's cousin: "Paul Westerberg makes me want to call my pharmaceutical rep."
He praised Ben Folds as a songwriter with “beautiful, clever melodies” while talking about writing using open chords (this is probably the first time I’ve ever heard/read of Westerberg praising a musician his jr. so it stuck out to me)

I had a feeling Mike Westerberg (went to same HS as me) was there because when PW was telling the story about the how the legend of his injured hand got wildly elaborated, he said something about a cousin at a family gathering asking his mom if he'd tried to cut off his foot, and then PW made a quick aside to someone in the crowd, something like "Ain't that right, Mike."
