Mid song, several shows ago, Paul was in the process of tearing apart his amp, kicking over the mic stand for the umteenth time, yelling for some "f*cking sandbags" ....and as a result of the mic stand fiasco, Paul and his guitar cord were so tangled the guitar tech couldnt get our hero to stay in one spot long enough to get to the end of the cord to plug it into the just-fixed amp!
ALL THE WHILE IM WONDERING IF PAUL (a) ever says thanks...(b) is paying this guy minimum wage...(c)lets this guy have the best bunk in the bus after a stage tantrum...(d)provides him with the tool belt to fix all the shit he destroys....etc.
HATS OFF TO THE GUITAR TECH/ROADIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point, that guy worked his ass off.
In cincy, PW broke a guitar string on the very first song. Song 2 begins, guitar man is off to the side, restringing the first guitar when the shoulder strap on # 2 comes loose mid-song. Paul soldiers on, lifting the guitar awkwardly high while strumming so the techie can see it, though he is nose down re-stringing #1. After maybe 10 seconds, he notices, scampers out to re-attach #2 while PW continues to play, then hustles back to finish the re-stringing.
Oh, he also got cussed out by PW for trying to help position the mic as PW lays on his back playing love untold in Columbus. Price you pay for trying to be helpful.
He also has good hands; catching all the guitars tossed to the side of the stage...didn't see him drop a one.

There must be a special bonus at the end of the tour for catching all guitars thrown/tossed. The Detroit show seemed like an episode of Monster Garage at the point when said guitar tech broke out the plyers and screwdriver to fix the head of Pauls amp..... funny stuff.
;D

That is correct, and he also works with Dave Grohl, but McCready is his main guy. My favorite band is Pearl Jam followed closely by the Mats/Paul. When Paul played solo in Norfolk in '02, I saw a girl ask for a pick before the show. Jeff told her Paul didn't use anything special but he had plenty of Patti Smith, Dave Grohl, or Mike McCready picks. She was not interested, but I told him I was a huge PJ fan and he left for a moment and came back with one Dave Grohl and two Mike McCready picks. The one McCready pick he gave me was one of the most rare picks McCready has ever used. I have seen this guy at the four PJ shows I have seen since that Norfolk show as well as on the live PJ DVD's I have. He also has a credit on the Neil Young Mirror Ball cd where PJ was the backing band. That, along with the great Paul performance, made the Norfolk show for me.

Not to deflect from this tech, who seriously deserves a bonus, but
The guitar tech from the Pantages shows - is he who I think he is?

Well, that can't be an easy thing, multi-tasking for a Paul on the road. So, hats off to Tim Fitch for keeping things flowing smoothly---for the most part.
Especially when Tim had to first try and handle Andrew at the DC concert. Tim has no way of knowing if any fan jumping onstage is going to be volatile or not. You know, what with the Dimebag thing and all....
