I've been having alot of trouble logging on to the 9:30 Club message board to ask them about their camera policy for Paul's show (sometimes its no cameras allowed and other times you can even bring in camcorders).
Does anyone know what the specific camera policy is for this show? If someone knows or can log into the 9:30 message board to find out, I'd appreciate it.
See you guys at the show...

stax,
I have no idea. when I saw Paul back in '02, there were plenty of cell phone cams and digital cams shooting flashes off into his face. i was a little surprised cuz i thought the 9:30 club didn't allow that stuff. so, I don't know if their policy is dependent on the artist or what....

I left a message there a few weeks ago and asked about parking and cameras. No advance sales on parking (due to the early event) and the camera policy was not known as of 2 weeks ago.
The act determines policy on cameras, video and taping. When Paul was there last time, I got the feeling that cameras were OK but he didn't like the flash so I tried not to use it.
Warning - parking might be a real pain this time due to the early event which is sold out. I do plan to drive because I want to wait after to get my Folker CD signed. When I was on the 9:30 Club forum last night, someone reported that their car had been broken into during a recent concert. They didn't park on the lot but got off-street parking. It's still a little dodgy in that neighborhood but anyone using Metro shouldn't have any problems.

Caroline,
exactly, there's an early show going on that evening as well. and i was thinking about driving too since I want to meet Paul afterwards. i haven't checked when the last train to leave U St/Cardoza or Shaw/Howard University stop is, but you don't want the pressure of having to make the last train out of there.
also, I can't remember how many cabs are around after the show. but yeah, if you're parking, be warned that once you get back into some of those neighborhoods off the main drag, it's kind of risky.

Non-professional cameras OK for this show. No videocams or other recording devices. Hmmmm.
He doesn't hit the stage until 11:00pm so be prepared for a late night. I don't know about you all but I'm giving my middle-aged @ss a nap before I go.
Also, I will be there dragging the DH with me. I'll be in the balcony area. I'm hoping to get parking in the lot if I get there at 9:30pm.

Yep, this is gonna be a late nite indeed. I might have to rush home and take a quick nap too! Am still not sure if I should drive to my office and then metro it over or not. The early show thing sure has thrown off the timing for tonite.
