I think you all need to print out your avatars and wear them on your foreheads. Forget Soy Bomb, I will now be wearing the Big Red Cat suit to the Pantages shows. WHO'S WITH ME?

hey, what about the nametag idea? just write your callsign on your name tag. i'll be easy to find. i'll be the one seated next to the big guy dancing around with the words "liveblastycam.com" printed on his torso.

then back by the bar of the left side for the rest of the Gear Daddies. up or downstairs? because i was by the left side bar dancing my pathetic heart out during the gear daddies set. then a quick exit before what looked like an Asian dance party was about to begin. lucky you got the quick exit. we all lined up like sheeps heading the slaughter. there were more than a few "what if i a fire breaks out" jokes amongst us sheep. i waited impatiently for a drunken, pushing brawl to start up, but thankfully we got out before that happened. anyway, the fire hazard gave me a chance to talk to a cute, cute redheaded guy and that's always a good thing, right? I didnt notice anyone staring...rudely or otherwise. Except for the occasional little drunk guy saying "You're the tallest guy I ever seen" thanks. I need the validation. so clearly you weren't the tall guy wearing the white t-shirt with the red collar that said ROCK on it, huh? because i was waiting for the guy to deck me because of the rude staring.

i waited impatiently for a drunken, pushing brawl to start up, but thankfully we got out before that happened. You should have been standing by me, one of the aforementioned fratboys started trying to pick a fight with one of the bouncers and I was right in the middle of it. The situation was defused but man, that would have been a lame end to a great night. Your point about fire concerns is valid, one of several reasons I dislike the Quest is that its design ensures that if a fire ever breaks out, no one is getting out alive.

And when I say "defused," I mean "I broke the shit out of his glasses." see?! that's why i didn't wear the glasses. i must say that the quest bouncers were jackasses. while we were all herding out. one of them yelled at sister #2 for kicking a beer bottle instead of picking it up and handing it to him. and i just looked at him and said it's easier to pick a up a bottle you can see, don't you think? fvcker. god. i hate mean people.

oh, also, Steve Wynn, of Dream Syndicate fame, joined the Smog for a rippin' Do Anything You Wanna Do by Eddie & the Hot Rods Just some FYI, Linda Pitmon is Steve's current drummer. She was in Zuzu Petals with Laurie Lindeen. I met Linda about a year ago after a Steve Wynn gig; she's a super cool person to talk music with and she's a really good drummer. Back then, she told me the last time she was in Minne she stopped in to see Laurie. She said Paul was down in the basement and didn't come up to say hello or anything.

I was there last night, still feeling the effects today. Bob Mould was incredible, he has lost none of the intensity of the Husker days. It was great to see Bob and Grant play together again, Grant happened to walk by after and I said, "Great set Grant" and the ever-cranky Grant responded "Two songs don't make a set!" and I replied, "You're right, still it was great seeing you up there" and he softened a bit and replied "Thanks". I saw Grant play at the Turf last Thursday and he's still got it musically IMO.
Paul's set (can 7 songs be called a set?) was cool, he really let it hang all out at the end of "First Glimmer" and the call out to Tommy at the end of "Swinging Party" was cool too.
