Boy, this is not cool if you ask me (what's that you say? No one asked me? Too bad!)
-------------------------- From Drive 105 - a Mpls radio station:
PAUL WESTERBERG WEB PRESALE Drive 105 presents Paul Westerberg at The Pantages Friday November 5th. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday at noon, but Drive 105 listeners get a chance to buy tickets early.
Come back to Drive105.com Friday at 6 a.m. for details on how to get your Paul Westerberg tickets before anyone else! -----------------
So it's not enough that you pay whatever the ticket charge is, and whatever TM is gonna molest you for on the service charge, now you need to get up at 6 o-freaking-clock to try for some chance at a pre-sale. I mean jiminy crickets, enough is enough. Yesterday the Karl Mueller show tickets went on sale with some mysterious VIP code that no one had access to and now this. I'm in marketing, people, I understand the need for promotion but you don't screw your best customers over and your best customers for this show are the people who are loyal fans and were already planning to be ready at the appointed on-sale time and now these people have to worry about getting up early for this shit.

6am? is this Paul's idea of a cruel joke? ;D
Drive 105 does tons of presales, but normally are all at like 10am or noon

I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here. That radio station is trying to pump up the ratings for their morning show, which starts at 6 am. They'll have a big announcement, which probably won't actually be at 6 am, and then they'll put it up on their website.
This means that we'll be hitting refresh over and over on the Drive 105 site, and then having to maneuver through Ticketmaster's stupid maze.

yeah, that would be 4 am on the west coast.
wait..... i am assuming that is minneapolis 6 am for the drive 105 presale, minneapolis 12 pm for the ticket master....
that means est would be seven am, one pm right?
um. math is not my strong suit.

So do I stay up and gun for the pre sale or go at noon? I was thinking pre sale due to the last debacle but considering my luck I'll just be the first to get the shittiest seats ever. I cannot risk this at my height.
Especially considering what seems to be the rather extraordinary height of the rest of you.

It's come to this...I'm supposed to work until 7am, but will ask for 2 hours off unpaid so I can be home to order tickets. I'll have to come up with a story for the boss...possibly involving a 'family crisis' of an unspecific nature. I am soooo slick.

i'll be up at 5:30 with the coffee brewing, and then probably back to bed by 9 a.m. in the first of what might prove to be a two nap series.
i love "working from home."

Ditto. Except had to wake up. Decided it's too early when you miss the fucking cup, but soldier on nonetheless. Dammit, STRONGER, coffee, STRONGER!!!

I'm having those lovely panicky attack type imaginings of my computer freezing or some shit like that. Waaaaay too much anxiety at this time of day. If these seats suck, someone's paying in blood.

My guess on how it will work, Drive105 will post a password for the ticketmaster presale...then over to ticketbastard to log in.
