I think it is considering Wilco and Morrissey sell more records. I don't think I paid that much for REM's big arena show, but that was six years ago. Is it an usually posh theatre? Weren't the Guthrie shows a little high too?
I think the most I coughed up recently was $27.50 for Richard Thompson, and I thought that was too much.

Is $36.50 really that much -- I'm asking cause I don't go to many shows and if I do, they are fairly 'popular' bands so like I'm seeing both Wilco and Morrissey (shut up) and I think I paid at least $30 for each and that seems fine to me. i don't think it's that much at all. but i told myself that if they were more than $25 i wasn't gonna be a greedy pig. i just think if i get to see him one night, that's probably enough and if the show sells out it makes me feel better to think in my little optimisitic dream world that someone that didn't get into my show is seeing him in my place and if i were a greedy pig one less paul westerberg fan got to see him, you know?

well, that same R.E.M. now charge $75 And that probably explains why I haven't seen REM in six years. That and the fact that their last few albums blew many goats. Geez, I feel like a bad fan. $40 prices a lot of people out, especially when you consider the distance some fans travel to see him play.

Seeing as I would be going both nights if I go and that would brand me a greedy pig if I agreed with you... I'm going to have to go with "no" on the "you know?".

to each their own. i just like to kid myself into believing by not going ot both shows someone else will get a chance to see him. maybe that makes me the ultimate do-gooder fan.
hmm. . . except for those situational ethics.

The ticket price is nothing compared to the overall price of what this weekend will cost me. The gas to get me to Minneapolis, two nights in a hotel within walking distance of the venue, that great Minneapolis cuisine, a drink or two, and of course the tour of record stores that always occurs when I hit the big city.
And I'll be happier than I've been in months that entire weekend.

Screw all you Northerners complaining about the ticket prices. If he came to Texas I would pay whatever the man wants and love it--unless my seats sucked. Sitting up in the balcony does not look that appealing.

Can anyone suggest local hotels that aren't flea bags? www.lemeridien.com/usa/minneapolis/offers_us1788.shtml[/url]It's right around the corner, and the New York Times called it one of the best in the world main problem, depending on the size of your trust fund: $309 is a "midpriced" room, and it's nest door to a Hard Rock Cafe
