And prozach has screwed up yet again. Anybody hear of any other way to get one or any tickets up for grabs let me know. I thought it wasn't suposed to sell out for days ? ! ? grrr mrbfghsgovhoi!!!!! Damn ProZ, that really bites, and I can kick myself. I logged on at 10 sharp, not wanting to take chances, and actually thought I should buy a few extra, guessing that peeps around here might decide last minute, and if not I could sell them in Louisville, but then thought.. Naw....... I thought they would be available at least for a little while too. I doubt you are willing to haul all the way there on a chance of getting a ticket outside the door, but I bet you could. You might also try calling your local Non comm radio stations and indie record dealers. Just maybe one of them are going to the conference, and have an extra ticket to Saturday. Long shot but maye worth a couple calls. It might also be worth trying the Brown Theatre ticket office directly. Not sure why they might have held some back, but you never know.

For you guys looking for some decent eats, there are some places downtown that you might like and the natives will tell you how to get to rather easily.
Joe's Crab Shack has fish, clams, and yeah, crabs. But don't forget they have beer! It's on the riverfront by the Great Lawn.
The Old Spaghetti Factory is pretty nice too. And if you want pizza and beer, try Bearno's by the bridge.
So far as bars, there are a few that I would recommend. O'Malley's Corner has three bars and has dance floors. It's on West Liberty. Stevie Ray's Blues Club is on East Main Street. If you get the chance to experience Louisville any....try to get out to the Highlands, which is the Bardstown Road/Baxter Avenue area. There is a long stretch of Bardstown Road near downtown that has lots of small cafes, record shops, hippie type joints, and one of my favorite bars, The Phoenix Hill Tavern. PHT usually has live music and is a good hangout.
If I can think of anything else, I let you guys know...or if there is something in paticular you want to know, ask me. If I don't know, I'll find out! Freddy

I'm suprised that it sold out that quickly, though it's the stronger line up of the two nights I guess. Or maybe it's just rabid Polyphonic Spree fans...what the HELL are they any way? I know it's like 20 people in robes but what do they do?? Some kind of alt-Up With People thing?

I almost blew it today myself!!
I had a few family obligations today that caused me to forget the 10am onsale time. I remembered around 1:30 and was put on hold by Ticketmaster for half an hour and told they didn't have the Brown Theatre as a venue (which I knew was false).
I finally got online at 2 and ordered thru the Ticketmaster site and got the 2 I needed. Apparently just in the nick of time too!
Those fees are a bitch. I'm going to wait and see if I can go to the Brown to buy tix for Friday's show and avoid some of them.
For anyone that missed it, I posted a list of bars that should be PW-fan friendly a few pages back. I did forget to mention Phoenix Hill Tavern, which is very near the Highlands bars I listed. It is also the place I very first saw the Replacements live. Depending on the band(s) they have that night, it can be a fun place too. Very mixed crowd, but drinks can get a little pricey and the cover can be a pain if you're not interested in the (usually) cover bands they have.

Hey Gang, I'm yet another poor soul who slept on tix for the Louisville show. Quite literally in fact. It was a rough Friday night, and I'm really, seriously, disturbingly lazy. Anyway, I just thought that I'd throw this post up and see if anybody had come across a pair of extras that I could possibly purchase, along with a drink and maybe a tour of the baseball bat factory or horse racing track or whatever else one would normally do to show appreciation for a kind deed while in Louisville. If so, PLEASE shoot me a note at errolmorrisfan@yahoo.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Putting the KY in Kentucky, dusty Dusty... your first post here is disturbing on many levels... Have you even paid the initiation fee yet? I think mostly its your name... I am not ever going to pretend I am your wife (I dont care how many drinks you buy me). putting the KY in Kentucky is not something I would neccesarily brag about... best of luck on the ticket hunt. EBay?

I'm sure if you go to Louisville Prozach, you'll be able to find quite a few scalpers...er ticket brokers who will be able to help you out.

I know it's like 20 people in robes but what do they do?? Some kind of alt-Up With People thing? You are exactly right. It is huge group of singers in white robes who are very happy and joyous. The are from Dallas and led by the singer from Tripping Daisy. It is one of those things that some people really love and find amazing; and others run away as fast as possible. I only saw them for about half a song, but that was plenty. I would have to be a much stronger person to endure an entire set.
