butzodaddy had a great idea in another thread: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wouldn't a little Paul action figure be fun, for the kids I mean? He could have all kinds of cool clothing and accesories, and a spring loaded guitar smashing arm. His pull string would provoke any one of those favorite Westerberg lines. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I mean, I'm ready to call Taiwan and get 'em working on it. All we need is a good dozen or so lines for the doll to say when you pull the string. They gotta be short, but beyond that anything goes: song lyrics or samples, interview quotes, stuff you make up, sound effects or clips, squeals, squeaks, giggles, expletives, snorts or any combination thereof.
butzodaddy has a pretty good one as a tagline for his posts: "Just like my father I miss the point"
and I'll throw out this song sample with laugh track: "Kewpie dolls and urine stalls will be laughed at [Tickle Me Elmo-type giggle] the way we're laughed at now"
but that's probably too long.

And I guess the talking Paul doll with the little catchphrase "I'd like to kick Ryan Adams teeth down his throat" might offend some fans that like both artists.... But maybe Grandpaboy said that and not Paul. What we need is a talking Grandpaboy doll that is scrooge-y just in time for the holidays.

"3 and" "the end" "just add water"
And a little twist on the phases of my kids' Woody doll - "somebody f*ckn' poisoned the water hole" "there's a f*ckn' snake in my boot"
You all are much better at this than me. But honestly, I think Paul could make some serious dough with the action figure.

I wouldn't care what it said as long as it had on one of his trademark outfits and it smelled like cigar smoke. Accessories would also have to include a guitar (obviously), a cigar, a Grandpaboy hat and a mini roll of duct tape.
It would be cool if someone would make an action figure for all of the Replacements (circa "Don't Tell A Soul") and they would have a super hard to find Bob figure that was translucent, like that Ghost of Darth Vader figure that was made a couple of years back.
But seeing that this thread asked for what it should say, this is what I think it should say; "f*ck Axl Rose."

"Be brave and concentrate" If he is going to say this he needs his ear of corn. Other possible quotes: Pull string-"The trick for every young songwriter that I'm going to give away is" Pull string-"I don't know if I should though" Pull string-"The trick is" Pull string-"The trick" Pull string-"Where's that river song?"

This doll would not be possible without your illegal footage and photographs. Thank you. Love, Paul.

Count me in for "Be brave. Concentrate." That anecdote at the Guthrie was just delightful.
I'd like a separate Grandpaboy doll, if only because it would be so fun to make little outfits for him...
