prozach, you crack me up! nothing like getting a good laugh to start off the day that's only going to get worse..... Anyway, I dig Suicaine---I put it into the context in which it was written and the feelings that Paul was trying to convey. I don't listen to it frequently but whenever the mood hits me I'll give it a spin. Regardless, I'd say that I tend to prefer Paul over the Mats but that's like trying to say which of your kids you love more. Again, I think you have to put things into context, how the times affect Paul's output. He can still write another "Gary's Got a Boner" or "Red, Red, Wine" but he's no longer the disaffected 20 year old guy touring in a van and getting hammered in bars every night. And so those themes aren't that important to him as he's grown and matured into artist who is now in his mid-40's.
