Man, I love that 1985 album. And Chip's quite the character.

seriously, they've got 10 or 12 albums and they're all chock full of great songs. they tour these days without donnie, but the guy they have singing (their longtime guitarist, johnny monaco) sounds amazingly like donnie, and does a great job fronting the band.

wow. paul simonon? that's good. here goes...
PW ... drums, vocals Tommy ... guitar, vocals chris mars ... bass, vocals (oh, wait, this will probably happen in 2008...)
PW - git, vox Sheryl Crow - bass, vox, sly hotness Sheila E. - drums, vox, triple hotness Fiona Apple - keys, vox, self-indulgent hotness
I know PW's got a true rock and roll queen at home, but i think he'd get along better with a band of chicks.

the band of chicks he needs to get along with are dixie. ricky rubin raided the minneapolis closet for their last album. their next one should feature collabs with pw and bobby mould.

Paul Westerberg - Guitar and Vocals Nick Lowe - Bass and Vocals Dave Edmunds - Guitar and Vocals Bun E. Carlos - Drums
They would pretty much just play 50's cover songs and I would love it.
