So I listen to the Mats a lot on digital files at the gym. I just run their complete output from the 2008 CDs over and over. I know the songs very well.
Tonight at home I put the Sorry Ma vinyl reissue on my turntable, which I hardly ever do, and it sounded fast. I checked the table's speed, and it was dead on 33 1/3. I put on Hootenanny from the same Twin Tone reissue box, and it sounded right.
Anybody notice a similar problem? I really haven't had that much to drink.

I haven't listened to an album on vinyl since 1984...O.K., once, I put on a Rick Derringer and a live UFO album about ten years ago...But my son got into vinyl, and frequently complains that the vinyl reissues sound "weird", compared to what he's used to hearing...And the primary complaint is that they sound faster or slower than they should...Admittedly, it's not like he's got some $10,000 dollar high end turntable in there...Must not be too bad, because he keeps buying vinyl and listening to it...

So maybe my ears were playing tricks on me.
