Given how there has been almost zero interviews of Paul and Tommy about the reunion gigs, let's say you had a chance to ask one question to either or both of them after one of the shows. What would it be?

When you guys wrestle, who wins? Because Paul is kinda wiry, but Tommy is scrappy. It seems like it would be a dead heat.

The Mats were in Seattle at the same time as the Big Star Third tribute. Paul, were you asked to be a part of that? Would you have liked to have been a part?

Open ended question: If Slim hadn't had the stroke, would this re-union thing have happened anyway? And if so, would he have been invited or encouraged to do the gigs? And if he wouldn't have been asked, why not? Was he against this sort of thing? Or can you all just not stand working with each other any more?

I think I'd ask him that he once said in an interview, years before Slim's stroke and the reunion, that he played a few times with Tommy before when Tommy would come thru Minne and that it wasn't anything special. Was getting back together and playing with Tommy in front of all these people special now? And for Tommy, I'd ask him if this reunion experience and the crowds were much better than any of the shows he's done with Guns and Roses?

My question: What's the deal with the skull cap? What's under there?
Haha, sorry, that's my question if I'm ever on a flight next to The Edge.

The Forrest Hills show was one of the best concerts I have ever seen, and it seemed as if the audience was singing along to every chorus and every verse. What were you thinking and feeling when you saw the crowd's response to your songs at this show? What has been your favorite of the reunion shows so far?

I actually got to ask Paul a question once. It was after the gig opening for TP/Heartbreakers at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY. If anyone knows the area from around the date of that concert (1989, I think, the best bar in town was named Below Decks (aka, "the decks). It was in the basement of a house with a very (I mean very) slight nautical theme....bannisters wrapped ropes and "portal" style windows. Cheap beers and $10 for a Slim Jim plastic pitcher full of Root Beers (vodka, galiano and coke).
As the band is leaving the stage (and it was everything that was both great and awful about a Mats show around that time), I get to the fence that is separating the band from the crowd. I yell out to Paul and catch his attention. I say, "Paul come meet us for drinks at Below Decks. We'll tell your driver how to get there. Drinks are on us all night!". Paul reply, while sweaty and appearing to have had a few already, "naw, free drinks are no prab-lem". Me and my buddy PJ (Peej) still laugh about it to this day. I was 25 then, 50 now.
And that was it. They were gone and we went to decks. Drank all night basking in the glory of seeing the band again, hearing them do Answering Machine, and actually getting an answer from him to a pretty lame question.
If I could ask him anything today, I'd probably ask him about being a father and losing a father. Other than my being an enormous fan of his, it's probably the thing we most have in common. And I'd probably ask him about baseball. He seems to be a fan.

great story nyc1lkg. i had a vhs tape of that show in high school. the video was completely focused on paul playing guitar. i honestly can say i learned to play guitar from that video. yes i took about 6 months of theory afterwards but to this day i still use some of his weird chords.

Paul answered most of my questions in 1987 at the Cadillac club, located in beautiful Fresno California. You see, my friend Mark and I sat with him during the opening bands set while he prodded us with free alcohol. He seemed more interested at getting in our heads than answering questions about himself. Also making fun of the opening act. I didn't get to ask Tommy a question in Tempe this past September, but did have him hug me while my 14 y/o daughter took a pic of us. Also she didn't get the pic and Tommy was outta there.

Some great questions here.
The one I would ask is this: "Paul, many of your fans were quite concerned when you injured your left hand. You mentioned that, as a result of the injury, you would focus more on improving your strumming hand. How is your left hand doing these days and has that incident changed your approach to playing?"

If a great band plays in the woods but no one ever hears them, who do they sound like?
