This may or may not be the set list the boys are working off for Riot Fest Toronto on August 25th:
Hold My Life I Will Dare Valentine I'm Not Sayin Merry Go Round Talent Show Little Mascara Skyway I'll Be You Message To The Boys Kiss Me On The Bus Swinging Party Bastards of Young Color Me Impressed Can't Hardly Wait
Encore: Never Mind Unsatisfied Left of the Dial Alex Chilton

I don't know if you have insider info or if you just made this up, but I can't think of a better setlist for a festival show filled with a bunch of non-fans. If they see a set like this and don't become fans there's no hope for them.

Seems too safe. Granted, a lot of these songs are shoe-ins, but are they really going to have it locked in this early? These are all great, but I wish they'd throw in "Customer" or "I'm in Trouble." And was "Message to the Boys" that well received that they'd get it a slot at the first reunion show? I love the song, but I seem to remember people being let down.

This is probably 90% dead on. I think they will probably play Message to the Boys.

yeah, I'd be happy with a set like that - especially if they're sticking to only these 3 shows. A cover or 2 is fine, but it should be a celebration of The Replacements in all their glory.

That's way more than a one hour set.

How can they make a setlist without Here Comes A Regular? We all need to dust of the Inconcerated version and listen to the crowd. That would be the clincher in the set.
They ought to open with Sweet Home Chicago (at least in Chicago). You know Slim would be smiling.

That set-list is just about perfect...yeah, Here Comes a Regular would make it even better, but, if I'm going to the boys one last time, I'd be satisfied.

You might need to subtract something and replace it with "Portland," seeing as they uploaded a picture of the lyrics on the Facebook page.

It will be interesting if they play Bastards of Young. They quit playing it after 1987 (I "think" I'm right on this) and Paul refused to go near it on solo tours amid tons of shout outs. Answering Machine is another song that he just never played on a solo tour although it's a fan favorite.
Re- Ans. Machine, Paul had that great line in Come Feel Me Tremble where during the Madison, Wi. footage he says "I can no more play Anwering Machine than Uriah Heep!" He just didn't remember how. Personally, I just think that muse or inspiration was left back in the 1980's and it's hard to play songs like that - as well as Unsatisfied - live, where there is so much raw emotion.

RE:Bastards was played regularly on the full length Don't Tell A Soul Tour (not so much on the Petty openers) and usually ended the encores for the All Shook Down tour..... No way they will omit it from these shows IMO. RE:Answering Machine, I don't recall if he played it during solo shows or not. I know I don't have any recordings that have it.

While I would love to hear more of the early stuff (Customer, Hayday, etc) the reality is that I don't care what they play...I'm just thrilled to be seeing them. Yes, I know they are older and it is not exactly the original band but once again...I don't care.
If they are going to play a cover why not "September Gurls"?

I think it would be really cool if Tommy sung a song... Either Satellite or Friday Night is Killing Me...

I really, really hope they *don't* play Swinging Party. I used to like it, but ever since a loved one died that way I have thought the song is in poor taste.
