I originally put this intro into the new members intro section but thought I may lodge it in this section and see if there is anyone interested in doing a small old fashioned trade?
Just thought I would introduce myself i'm an Aussie longtime music fan (but shame on me!) i'm relatively new to Mr Westerberg's music (about the last 3 or 4 years mostly via his great run of solo albums particularly his masterpiece (imho) Sucaine Gratification!)
Just wondering if there is anyone on the board who would like to partake in some old fashioned trading? I'm an old fart (only a couple of years younger than Paul!) so i haven't quite worked out this downloading caper.
I've been trading music since the mid-80's so i have a pretty decent collection of a lot of artists just unfortunately not much Paul or Replacements.
I only have the compilation A Lot Of Songs Not For Sale, the Paul L.A Henry Ford show from 05 and a 1991 Replacements Show who's date escapes me but i think it may be their last?
I have a hell of a lot of Bruce, Dylan, Van, Neil Young, The Band, The Who, Gaslight Anthem, Jesse Malin, Drive By Truckers, Richmond Fontaine, Arlo Guthrie,Tom Waits,Chuck Ragan,Christy Moore, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams etc
I currently participate on Vines on a couple of fan boards Greasy Lake (Bruce), DylanShrub (Bob) and previously the Neil Young Tree Site before it finished up.
Would be interested in getting to know the folks around here and see if i can set up a small trade or two I haven't done one for a while. I'm really a Paul novice when it comes to unofficial material and i realise he has largely been inactive as far as playing shows over the last 5 or 6 years so i would be open to suggestions on two or three shows that would be considered essential to get my Paul (and Replacements) education up to speed.
I read with fascination in the show forum of the Craft Show that one sounds like a good one to start with!?
Anyway apologies for the long rambling intro if there was an aussie trader on this board (just for convenience) but i'm not fussy really anyone in any country (through my long association with tape and cdr trading there would not be a country in the world I wouldn't have sent a packet of music to at some stage over the years.
And hopefully I can reciprocate with music from some of the artists i in my collection some i have listed above.
Best Regards,
John Stirrat
