Well, this is kind of neat but completely useless for me since I haven't had a record player for about 20 years. Oh well, I'm sure I will hear it somehow. So, are people really paying 8 bucks for two songe?

Two songs plus an "epic" download bonus. You get a download code with the single. So depending on how epic it is it could be worth 8 bucks on its own. I wouldn't miss it. Remember 49:00 didn't stick around long and people were bummed that they missed it.

I'll pay 8 bucks for a 45rpm if it means i get a full album (and then some) for 49cents. That's a steal.

Without a second thought. These days that's not outrageous for a limited edition 7". Plus it comes with the download (which many do as well). Plus it's Paul. With the resurgance of vinyl we've been seeing more of this type of thing in recent years - Record Store Day, vinyl-only bonus tracks, etc. And don't forget about the superior sound quality.
Vinyl is back. Get yourself a turntable everyone. You won't be sorry.

I'm in. I went ahead and bought it. I have a turntable (somewhere around here...). I'll have to dust it off. Maybe I'll dig out my old Beatles and Clash records.

Is this thing ready to ship out?
Paul in the fall, fingers crossed. And, I'd pay 8 bucks just for a gander at Grandpaboy's Last Stand.

Thanks to a friend who apparently paid for next day shipping, i've now heard the release.
The two tracks on the 7" are acoustic, Dylan-ish tunes. Very Stereo-ish, with the typical turn of the phrases that Paul is so known for. The bonus track, though, is interesting. It's a 35-minute medley of a fake full-band session with out of tune playing, singing, and tons of false starts. Full songs start to kick in around the 7:30 (or so) mark, and towards the end of this thing there's even a New Order-ish tune.

Just a further note on the two tracks on the single...when I say they're Stereo-like, I just mean they're solo with an acoustic. The emphasis is more on the Dylan-esque, particularly the relatively energetic folk of songs like "Talking John Birch Society Blues" or "Motorpshycho Nightmare".

Ordered it without hesitation. I can justify the price by framing the cover art....check out the length of that finger!

In some respects, but it's much, much rougher...almost a performance art piece.

I ordered it today. I'm hoping that whatever is on the 45 will be on the download card because I don't have a record player. It will be a nice collectible though. If it really is Grandpaboy's Last Stand, it has to be worth it just for what's on the download card.

I ordered mine last night and looking forward to it. Is Mr. F going to take the reigns now? Does Paul like Billy Childish I wonder?
