The Quest site has this show listed as 10/21 instead of 10/23 as was reported in the Star-Tribune...I figured the club has to know when the show is! Here is the info from their site:
SOUL ASYLUM ALSO APPEARING: BOB MOULD, PAUL WESTERBERG, THE GEAR DADDIES, MEMBERS OF GOLDEN SMOG ROCK FOR KARL A benefit concert for Karl Mueller Age Restriction 18+ Tickets $30 ADVANCE AND DAY OF SHOW----$50 VIP
I know 10/21 was the original date of the show so I would go with this. And it appears to be a Soul Asylum show with "special guests" so I wouldn't expect a full set or anything from PW.

Jodi, there wasn't any Ajax in those pants, was there? Somehow I think you're responsible for this banner ad: WebUndies: comfortable lounge pants for men. carry on..

I know 10/21 was the original date of the show so I would go with this. The Star Tribune ran a correction www.startribune.com/stories/499/4999377.htmlCorrections September 25, 2004 • The date of a benefit concert for Soul Asylum bassist Karl Mueller was incorrect in articles on Page B4 Thursday and Page E4 of Friday's FreeTime section. It is Oct. 21 at the Quest in Minneapolis. The Quest site has Age Restriction 18+ Tickets $30 ADVANCE AND DAY OF SHOW----$50 VIP And it appears to be a Soul Asylum show with "special guests" so I wouldn't expect a full set or anything from PW. - 18+ means no drinking? or show your 21+ ID at the bar? - $50 VIP ... note that the Quest was originally Prince's club, so just imagine who you might run into in the VIP lounge - Is it common to play at your own benefit?

I think the Quest is kinda cool. Havent spent much time on the main floor, but have been on the rail above the stage. It's more of a 'box' than the funky layout of 1st Ave (which I prefer). The rail above surrounds the whole dance floor. Getting a drink on the main floor is a pain, upstairs is easier.

you can see pretty well at the quest, but "box" is a pretty good description. the upper rail (IF you can get a spot right at the rail) is awesome.

Even more than hanging out with Paul Westerberg fans, I like hanging out with the subset of that group known as Cheapskate Anti-Corporatist 1980s Veterans for Truth and Standing in Lines.
So I try to buy concert tix at box offices whenever possible. Does anyone know if I can avoid Ticketmaster fees and online snafus by buying at the Quest box office? They aren't answering their phones and might not till past 5 p.m. I suppose.
(I am so lame at buying online that I managed to move from front row (or something like it) to upper deck at a stadium show in a matter of minutes while ticketmaster.com pestered me to re-enter crap, last time I tried.)

i'll be there, too. the "VIP" area is the "ascot lounge", i believe, which has its own stage.... which begs some interesting questions....

I'm in, probably along with Mrs Wolfdog...she's still a maybe, but got her a ticket anyways. Got the 21+ tickets, so I'm assuming I will be allowed to drink. I don't believe I can get a Pabst at such a fine establishment. Alas...there is always Newcastle.
