For the purposes of this poll, Boink does not count as an official release.
I like polls.

'Run For The Country' gets my vote, can't believe it was left off of 'PTMM' in favor of songs like 'Nightclub Jitters' and 'Dirty Pool'.

I gotta go Tommy all the way, since most of Paul's good stuff seemed to end up on the albums....
Trouble On The Way-great ballsy rocker
& Make This Your Home-precursor to the greatness of Friday Night...

For the purposes of this poll, Boink does not count as an official release. I like polls. Ok, for the purposes of this poll, "Pleased to Meet Me" does not count as an official release so my choice is "Skyway"

Birthday Gal. I guess it was released on the double CD thing, but it was the best non-album song. Nowhere is My Home and Don't Get Married are right up there. How about the cover of Route 66. Classic.

"Don't Get Married", "Your Getting Married".......great song. I still can't figure out why "No where is my home" got left off Tim and we get, "Lay it Down Clown" or "Dose of Thunder" I thought Paul sang "Make this your home" I know Tommy sang "Trouble on the way"

"Nowhere is My Home" is amazing. Paul needs to bring this back out on the next tour.
My other two fav's would have to be "Perfectly Lethal" and "Hard To Wave in Handcuffs."

"Temptation Eyes" is actually a cover, it was originally done by the Grass Roots. Great song and great version by the Mats though.
For me it'd be a tossup between "Nowhere Is My Home" and "Learn How to Fail". I can't believe you left "Learn How to Fail" off the list!

I thought it was Paul at 1st, but the more I've listened, the more I'm thinking it's Tommy. Can anyone comfirm who is doing the vocal? If I ever meet Paul again, I will ask him about the vocal on "Make This Your Home". After all these years, I still can't tell if it's Paul or Tommy. It's like the last verse in "I'll Be You"...the "A dream too tired to get to!" part. I had a friend that insisted that Tommy was singing that last verse. And if you listen, it sure does sound like him. Tommy did sing that part live a few times, so it makes me wonder.

Gotta go with PO BOX (aka Empty as Your Heart) as well. I love the bridge which sounds like something Paul ripped off from Blue Oyster Cult. Plus, the solo smokes.

No one's mentioned "Who's gonna take us Alive!". This should have been on Let It Be, but that would put the album past 40 minutes!!
The song is well constructed and the lyrics are cool. I enjoy the bridge/solo where Paul does his best Peter Buck guitar arpeggio riff... then rips right into a nice guitar line right from the pages of a Johnny Ramone or Johnny Thunders songbook.
Other songs that "shoulda" but didn't...
- Ought a get love (Cover?) - Sweet Girl (I can see Uncle Tupelo cover this one!)
