on a bootleg, in "Seein Her" he does the line this way:
She wants to play Romeo and Julie-Peter Perr-ett
kind of inserting one name in the other, so clearly that it seemed intentional, and I wondered whether this was before or after the released version, which goes
She's playing Romeo and Juliet, I'm playing Peter Perrett

Last night I woke in the middle of the night with this burst bubble realization and came up with these paulish lines:
reality checked into the boards or reality cross checked or reality check's in the mail or reality, checkered

Hate to correct you again but he's playing Peter Pan on the studio version, not Peter Perrett. I've always heard "She wants to play Romeo and Juliet, I'll play Peter Perrett" - the line before ends in "share it" so "Perrett" makes more sense as a rhyme.

I see both perspective lyrics as possibilities....but I'm more inclined towards "Peter Pan" since that's what I've always heard and I've associated as...
Romeo and Juliet - tragedy
Peter Pan- fantasy
But hey, I could be wrong...heck, I thought yesterday was today!!!

John Kerry's got one:
"George Bush misled the nation into war in Iraq."
You can mislead the nation, and you can lead the nation into war, but misleading the nation into war is a new one I think.
