Here's an interview where he talks a bit about producing Tim and working with Bob: www.markprindle.com/erdelyi-i.htm"He was a strange person. In a good way!" I was looking for a more recent interview with a color photo where he also talked about doing Tim, but haven't found it yet. But here's another snippet: I dunno, 'BOY' sounds like one of the ones Bob contributes to the most to me. The solo is pure 70's arena rock, not very PW-ish at all. So it wouldn't surprise me if he's playing the riff too. He certainly played it live. Mind you, it's probably Paul playing the lead and Tommy playing the rhythm guitar while the studio janitor plays bass, or some other silly configuration. Well, your right, the riff does sorta sound "Bob-ish" even though it would be surprising if Paul trusted Bob to do that critical opening.. However, it is possible.. Tommy Erdelyi who produced Tim has often commented on the sessions...Here is one interview fragment I found (www.markprindle.com): ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I produced the Tim album. Okay, was that the first -- oh damn, I'm forgetting. So that was the first one without Bob Stinson? No, that was the last one with him. Could you tell he was falling apart at the time? No. He was really bizarre, but I was very used to working with bizarre people. My cup of tea, you know? And it was great! I loved working with Bob. He was only able to be at the studio like -- he was there maybe two days. And then he was gone. But those two days, we tried to get as much out of him as possible. Maybe it was one day. It might have been just one day.
