I've migrated to "My Daydream" and I concur with the "Come on come on" sentiment above. Also onto "Call That Gone?" "callin' it quits again baby, you're just stallin'"it's me in a single lyric! That man is a genius!

I always smirk listening to Call that Gone. Almost cruel in its put-down. Play it right after Never Mind. The man does write some great "break-up" songs, and its so funny/mean to break up with a shrug.

"Undone". Had to pull that out since the weather warmed up. Yesterday was "Meet Me Down The Alley" since I can no longer take a drive through the suburbs without thinking, "Where I live now there's no sidewalks, only small talk..."

I was at a used bookstore on the weekend, and picked up "The Mojo Collection - The Greatest Albums of All Time." The only Replacements album to make the book... Pleased to Meet Me .

Those Mojo people are right when they are right... and oh so wrong when they are wrong. Limeys.
"Got You Down" I have a feeling I will be listening to this one for quite awhile...it just hits a little too close to home.
In fact, that's one thing about PW that gets under my skin - a little too often there is a song of his that just describes my life situation perfectly...and then it becomes part of my dna.

Do you colonials still call us Limeys?? I thought we'd become 'allies' or 'brothers in arms', how about 'Austins'! As for the rather stuffy Mojo, its surprising any Mats record made their list, since PTMM probably sold about 3 copies over here, I have one(insert signed by PW I may add), and Im pretty sure I know the other two guys who bought it! Uncut is more to my taste, always very pro PW. Couldnt agree more about PW songs describing life situations. Every decision I make, I have on constant rotation in my head 'Leap of faith, or a jump of stupid, either way I dont know what Im doin'. Thats been my motto this year for sure! I also decided that at my funeral, which is hopefully some way off, I'd like to have playing 'I Want My Money Back' that would be just perfect. Cheers Patrick

EM, sounds like an admittance to something sordid? I do agree that many of his songs too accuarately describe a situation we find ourselves in, and usually those situations aren't the good ones!

Hey Regular, I'm not at liberty to say anything. Part of the settlement was never disclosing the terms.
I've been listening to the mother of all boots posted elsewhere on this board (thanks to a kind friend) and I am digging on the alternate takes of many of the songs. It's eye opening to hear these songs that you know so well - except that they have different lyrics, different endings, etc. I still have hours of listening to go before I digest it all, but I am loving the early early outtakes right now.

cmft is now only really growing on me too, having been completely flogging the shit out of dead man shake. but i think makin' me go is one of the catchiest riffs since alex chilton, that everyone should get to hear but no one will. i second what uncut said about cfmt rating it 9th for 2003 saying who needs kings of leon, the strokes and ryan adams when westerberg is in this kind of form.
